CBRE Announces $250,000 Raised For Camp John Marc At 18th Annual Chefs Showcase In Dallas

8/1/16

(L-R): CBRE’s Sean Goff, Michael Caffey and Steve Berger present the proceeds from the 2016 Chefs Showcase to Kevin Randles, Executive Director of Camp John Marc.

CBRE announces a record-setting donation of $250,000 to Camp John Marc, a 170-acre camp and nonprofit organization that serves Texas-area children living with chronic illnesses and major physical challenges. The record proceeds were raised at the 18th annual Chefs Showcase hosted by CBRE earlier this year, bringing the total raised since the event began to more than $2.5 million.

Over the last 18 years, this black-tie gala has raised awareness as well as dollars to help send children with chronic illnesses and major physical challenges to Camp John Marc. Funds raised at Chefs Showcase over the years have sent more than 8,000 children to the week-long residential camp in Bosque County, Texas.

“Camp John Marc is incredibly grateful for our long-time friendship and partnership with CBRE,” said Kevin Randles, Executive Director of Camp John Marc. “Chef’s Showcase continues to be an event of the highest caliber and we are in awe of this record-setting year that will allow hundreds of campers to attend Camp John Marc this summer at no cost to the campers or their families.”

This year’s Chefs Showcase, held at The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas, featured chefs from 13 top North Texas restaurants who shared signature dishes from their menus. Guests also enjoyed a silent auction, casino and live music from The Project.

“It’s an honor for all of us at CBRE to partner with Camp John Marc, an organization that is impacting the lives of so many children and families,” said Michael Caffey, President of CBRE’s Texas-Oklahoma Division. “I am deeply grateful to the chefs and restaurants who make this such a highly-anticipated event and to our sponsors, clients, vendors and employees who provide financial support and countless hours of service to make a lasting difference in the lives of children.”

Top sponsors included Schwob Building Company, CHRISTUS Health, the McStay Family and Zale Family Foundation.

Camp John Marc provides year-round programming and specialized camp facilities that are uniquely designed in partnership with Dallas-Fort Worth area pediatric hospitals and health organizations to serve children, teens and families living with chronic medical and physical challenges. The annual proceeds from Chefs Showcase are used for campership funds that enable hundreds of children to attend the camp each year.

The 2017 Chefs Showcase will be held April 28, 2017 at The Ritz-Carton, Dallas.
